What is Rotary?

Rotary Is

Ordinary people accomplishing extraordinary things. Rotary is a highly active and productive, results-oriented, worldwide organization of more than 1.2 million business, professional, and community leaders. Members of Rotary clubs, known as Rotarians, provide humanitarian services, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. Rotary provides assistance to those seeking the most basic survival needs such as food, water, shelter and medicine, as well as education and peace keeping.

What is Rotary

There are 33,000 Rotary clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas. Clubs are nonpolitical, nonreligious, and open to all cultures, races, and creeds. As signified by the motto Service Above Self, Rotary's main objective is service — in the community, in the workplace, and across the globe. Rotarians are welcomed at clubs around the world to support one another and share their rich experiences.

The tireless work of Rotary International has resulted in numerous accomplishments helping to uplift the lives of millions in need. Most are small, daily contributions that make a big difference in individual lives. Others are astounding triumphs such as the complete eradication of small pox from the entire global human population. Through similar relentless vaccination effort, Rotary has immunized over 2 billion children and reduced Polio 99% to near elimination. All are achieved through patient determination and continued service and personal dedication and sacrifice of many courageous contributors.

Every willing individual can provide value to Rotary's capability to effect positive change, and welcomes all who are able to contribute. Please visit www.rotary.org to find out more and feel free to contact us with any questions regarding membership and participation.
